Brian Blood - Founder, President

 Prior to the formation of AHDS, Brian ran a successful web hosting and consulting/support business, MacServe.net. His experience includes 2 years working for Mobil Oil in their drilling operations division as a developer & support engineer; 6 years as developer/Director of Computing Services for Smith Protective Services, a security guard & patrol services company. And finally 1 year as a programmer for Texas Instruments working on a team developing software that interfaces with TI calculators before starting MacServe.net

Jim Blood - Chief Executive Officer

 Jim has worked with all the 57 Medicare (CMS) fiscal intermediaries (FI) and data centers in DDE connectivity along with recent CMS specific 270/271 EDI formatted transaction set. Working with AHDS, Jim was one of the first people to successfully send the "first original" CMS HIPAA mandated 270 that required streaming socket port connectivity and used a unique CMS security prefix as part of the RACF authentication at the individual FIs' data centers.

  • Full understanding of all 11 HIPAA transaction sets.
  • Expertise in CMS dial up and leased line connectivity to CMS' authorized network, AT&T Global Network Services (AGNS).
  • Helped over 160 health care facilities save more than $26 million annually in AGNS connectivity costs.
  • Trained in IBM Global Network's Information Exchange EDI mapping and testing of ANSI12 and EDIFAC EDI transaction sets.
  • 6 years of computer systems procurement experiences at Texas Instruments.
  • In 1995 installed, setup and operated internet servers with full FTP, email, and web hosting functions.
  • Network Vice President for a CNN health care medical information subsidiary.
Jim has been involved in the software and service development of the CMS real time eligibility verification process using HIPAA compliant EDI transaction sets. He has worked with AHDS from the beginning when he first presented the concept to the founder of AHDS. He also has extensive EDI translation knowledge gained at IBM in their EDI group. At IBM he tested many 4010 EDI series documents for Y2K compliance specifically for the one of the world’s largest foreign auto maker. Jim brings AHDS a unique combination of skills and knowledge that less then a handful of people in the United States have in the areas of :
  • EDI mapping, enabling, transaction processing and testing.
  • AGNS network connectivity - dialup,leased line and personal contacts.
  • CMS contacts, policies and procedures.

Catherine Ice - Senior Vice - President Marketing and Sales

 Ms. Ice has for the past several years worked with many customer service evaluation companies as a consultant helping improve customer service for companies such as Texaco, Amoco and various Fortune 500 companies to provide critical on site feedback and data research information. Prior to these experiences, Ms. Ice worked on the American Airlines’ account where she along with several others on her team developed the"Frequent Fliers "customer loyalty program. The AADVANTAGE program has been universally copied. Ms. Ice has with her recent contacts worked with many of the potential distributors and has already established a network of people that are ready to begin the Connect4Me services certification training and distribution process.
